There are certain streets in New Orleans that almost feel like their own little city, and Magazine Street is definitely one of them.

Stretching for nearly six miles through some of the most beautiful and historic parts of New Orleans, Magazine Street has a personality that changes block by block.

And honestly, it has always been one of my favorite streets in New Orleans.

One minute you’re walking past antique shops and historic homes, and the next you’re stopping for coffee, browsing local boutiques, or finding a restaurant patio packed with people enjoying the afternoon.

For both locals and visitors, Magazine Street has become one of those places you can spend an entire day exploring and still not see everything.

Whether you’re looking for hidden art galleries, amazing food, unique shopping, or simply wanting to experience the charm of Uptown New Orleans, Magazine Street is one of those places that truly captures the heart of the city.

Right across from The Rum House, you’ll also find places like Lush Cosmetics and Fleurty Girl, which are honestly two of my personal favorite stores to stop into while walking Magazine Street. Somehow I always seem to leave with bags full of goodies I didn’t plan on buying. 😂⚜️

One thing New Orleans does extremely well is food, and Magazine Street definitely proves that.

The street is packed with:

• patios perfect for brunch

Some people come to Magazine Street specifically for brunch and end up staying the entire afternoon.

Personally, a few of my favorite stops include The Rum House, which has a fun casual atmosphere and outdoor seating where you can even bring your dog. And honestly… I still love their “Damn Good Nachos.” 😂⚜️

If you’re looking for something a little more upscale, Peche Seafood Grill is another favorite and definitely worth making reservations ahead of time.

For classic New Orleans comfort food, Joey K's Restaurant & Bar has been serving locals and visitors since 1989 and remains one of those longtime Magazine Street staples.

And if you’re looking for something more casual and fun, Juan's Flying Burrito is another popular stop along Magazine.

One of the best parts about Magazine Street is that you can casually walk from one place to another while discovering shops, galleries, restaurants, and hidden spots you never planned to find.

The 27th annual Fidelity Bank White Linen Night in New Orleans will take place on Saturday, August 1, 2026, from 5:00 PM to 10:00 PM throughout the Warehouse District and Central Business District.

It’s one of the city’s most popular art events, where galleries open their doors, artists showcase their work, and thousands of people dressed in white spend the evening walking through the arts district enjoying music, food, wine, and local culture.

It’s another reminder that New Orleans isn’t just a food city… it’s an art city too. ⚜️
